At Grange Community Nursery and Primary School we value the arts as a way for our children to express their own creativity. The Arts include Art and Design Technology, Dance, Music, Creative Writing, Drama, and Poetry.
Art
At Grange Community Nursery and Primary School, we value Art as a way for our children to express their own creativity.
Creative writing, drama and poetry are taught through English and topics. Art is taught within topics. Art is very important to us at Grange Community Nursery and Primary School.
We teach Art with a specific artist focus. Children are given the opportunity to practise, develop and embed their art skills through lessons. We encourage children to fulfil their artistic talents through extracurricular activities and regional competitions.
We display children’s artwork throughout the school. Art is extremely important to us at Grange and we value the creativity it allows all children to express.

Wider Opportunities/Music
‘At Grange Community Nursery and Primary School, we value Music as a way for our children to express their own creativity.
At Grange, our children learn to play an instrument. Alongside this, peripatetic music lessons are offered – including drums, ukulele and brass instruments.
Music is at the heart of Grange Community Nursery and Primary School and our fantastic school choir will be performing at Chester Cathedral this Christmas.

Extra-curricular activities also give our children the opportunity to develop the Arts outside of the curriculum. Drama, music, creative writing are all included.
