Year Three

We are a small class of eighteen children who are hard working and enthusiastic about our learning.  We love to learn through engaging and exciting lessons that are focused around a quality text.

In the spring term we will be travelling back in time to Ancient Egypt where we will learn all about pharaohs, mummification and the famous Gods. We are looking forward to visiting The Ancient Egyptian exhibition in Liverpool World Museum to stimulate questions as we begin our topic. We will then take an observatory trip across the River Mersey to see the famous Liverpool sights!

Our English lessons will focus around a text called The Time-Travelling Cat and the Egyptian Goddess. We are aiming to write our own inventive stories about time-travelling animals! We are also looking forward to writing poems based on 'The Valley of the Kings' as well as instructions about 'How to create a Mummy!'

In Maths, we will be continuing our understanding of multiplication and division as we extend our knowledge of the 3, 4 and 8 times tables in to problem solving and reasoning.

As the spring days lengthen, we hope to visit Formby Beach and Woods to continue our geographical and scientific learning.  We will also have the wonderful opportunity to experience PE sessions from a Cricket Coach!

Please help to support your child at home by reading at least four times a week.
