Pastoral Manager and Family Support
Kerry Clarke
My role in school is to implement and offer support and advice relating to safeguarding and child protection procedures. This enables me to work alongside other agencies and organisations and sign-post parents to the best support groups to help them. I am here to assist families in need of extra support, this might be through a ‘Team around the family’ (TAF) that I lead, or it may be that I support a Child in Need, or a Child Protection plan.
Alongside this, I can offer advice and guidance or just be a listening ear to parents and children when they need it. This may be related to school issues, including school attendance, routines and boundaries or home issues including housing or debt worries, domestic abuse, and substance misuse.
Community Engagement
At Grange, we offer a warm welcome to all parents that are interested in further learning or training. We offer a range of parenting courses throughout the school year which include: ‘1, 2, 3 Magic Parenting’.
In addition to this, I support organising family learning courses in school such as: ‘Help Your Child with English,’ ‘Help Your Child with Maths,’ ‘Functional Skills,’ and ‘Early Readers including Phonics.’
We also run toddler groups throughout the year which are run by a local groups, Story Sense and Pop up Village.
We work with lots of local charities and agencies to support local families within our community including, Thriving Families, the local food bank and Early Navigators.
