School Council
At Grange Community Nursery and Primary School, we have a School Council which is made up of two children from each year group. At the beginning of each academic year, the children vote in a democratic manner to elect their School Councillors to represent them and their views. This provides a meaningful way for the pupils of Grange to have their voices heard and their opinions to be taken into consideration and, in many cases, acted upon.
The School Council have been pivotal in many decisions and ideas that have been implemented, including new play equipment for break and lunch times, promoting healthy snacks and lunches and helping to choose the new school uniform. The School Council also plays a valuable role in the community and has participated in many events including charity bake sales, ensuring safe parking around our school grounds and litter picking. They have also visited other local schools to discuss community projects and have attended local care homes and the food bank.
